About the Grant
Initiated in Spring 2013, the ARC Knickerbocker Archival Research Grant in American Studies provides a modest stipend for doctoral students at the Graduate Center to get started with their archival dissertation research. Grant recipients receive a maximum of $3,500 to cover expenses incurred during their archival work. The semester following the award, students submit a short write-up detailing their research activities and how the work in the archives influenced their dissertation work. Recipients are also given the opportunity to participate in a professional development workshop focused on grant writing.
Applications for the next round of ARC Knickerbocker Grants will be made available through this website in spring 2015.
Funds for the ARC Knickerbocker Archival Research Grant in American Studies are provided by the Graduate Center Office of the Provost.
